Viennese hairdresser Josef Gschwentner opened his Studio salon in Vienna’s 9th district in 1930. Dissatisfied with existing dye options on the market, he began developing his own professional-grade hair color — laying the foundation for what would become Gschwentner Haarkosmetik.
In 1950, Gschwentner officially launched RefectoCil as a dedicated professional dye for eyebrows and eyelashes. The dedicated Sensitive range was developed for reactive skin types and is free from parabens, perfume, ammonia, and formaldehyde. A patch test 48 hours before service is always recommended.
Only RefectoCil-brand oxidants — either the 3% Liquid or 3% Cream Oxidant — should be used. Other brands are not formulated for compatibility and may affect color results.
